The goal

Get weekly reporting down to two hours.

Discovery call · March 4

The progress

Reporting now takes half a day. The two-hour goal is still unconfirmed.

Customer success call · June 12

A useful next question

What is still taking the most time?

The story between the calls

They bought with a goal in mind. Is it still in view?

The original goal lives in a discovery call. A concern comes up during onboarding. A progress update arrives months later. Customer Journey brings those moments together, company by company.

01

Why they came to you

Understand the problem they wanted to solve, what they hoped to achieve, and what concerned them before buying.

02

What happened since

Follow the progress, results, and setbacks customers describe, with dated evidence behind each finding.

03

What needs a conversation

See unresolved concerns and unanswered questions, so you can choose what to follow up on.

One company. A connected journey.

See the progress. Keep the unanswered questions.

An example of how a customer’s own words can connect the original goal to the latest update.

Fictional company and quotes

MARCH 4 · DISCOVERY

An explicit goal

We spend a full day pulling the weekly report together. We want that down to two hours.

Goal: shorten weekly reporting to two hours.

APRIL 9 · ONBOARDING

A concern to follow

My concern is getting all three sites to use the same process.

Concern: consistent adoption across sites.

JUNE 12 · SUCCESS

Progress, with a gap

The report takes half a day now. Two sites are using the new process; the third is still on spreadsheets.

Progress reported. The time target and full adoption are not yet confirmed.

Still unknown

What is holding back the third site? Has reporting reached the two-hour target since the last call? Which alternatives did they consider before buying?

Missing evidence stays missing. No post-purchase call means no visibility into progress—not evidence that the customer is unhappy.

Example email brief

Northstar has made progress. One site is still behind.

Their latest call describes faster reporting, but the original two-hour target remains unconfirmed. Adoption at the third site is still an open concern.

A few things to know

Questions, answered.

Who is Customer Journey for?

Founders and small B2B teams who want a clearer picture of their customer relationships. Start with the sales and customer success conversations you already record, plus your CRM.

Do I need another dashboard?

Explore your customer journeys in ChatGPT or Claude. Email briefs give you a starting point, and you can ask follow-up questions and inspect the source evidence there.

Can Customer Journey predict churn?

Customer Journey surfaces what customers have said: their goals, concerns, progress, and setbacks. It does not predict churn or monitor product usage. Use the evidence to decide what needs a closer conversation.

What if we don’t have customer success calls?

You can still explore the original goals and purchase conversations. Customer Journey makes the missing post-purchase evidence visible. No update does not mean the customer failed to achieve their goal.

What does ‘progress’ mean?

Progress means an update the customer reported in an available conversation, with its date and source. A positive comment does not automatically mean a goal was achieved. Conflicting or incomplete evidence stays visible.
